Philadelphia's Comedy Showcase
This is just part 1 of our big news!
November 9th through the 13th
It’s that time of the year again when the Laff House comedy club calls the year’s funniest acts for a 5-day sprint of full-on comedy on South street!
As someone who frequents the Laff House, I can honestly say that the acts that are booked for this year’s festival are some of the funniest comedians that I’ve seen there so far, some of them being my personal favorite comedians in general. Most of them appear at the Laff House strictly on special occasions such as this.
The line-ups for the 2011 Philadelphia Comedy Festival are:
Tony Roberts with TuRae Gordon
Comedian Tony Roberts
If you’re familiar with mainstream comedy, you’re bound to know Tony Roberts’ antics on stage as well as his stand-up special on Shotime (available to be streamed on Netflix). And of course, those who are familiar with myself and Philadelphia comedy at all know that TuRae Gordon is one of the finest comedians to come from our great city. A commercial success and a teacher/mentor to a great number of comedians working in and out of Philadelphia today.

Joe Derosa with Richie Redding
Comedian Joe Derosa
One of my personal favorites and another comedian who hails from Philadelphia and has moved on to mainstream success, Joe Derosa has been featured on his own half-hour special on “Comedy Central Presents:” as well as the hit shows “Bored to Death” on HBO and FX’s “Louie”. His latest CD “Return of the Son of Depression Auction” is currently in stores and his podcast with fellow comedy giant Bill Burr can be found here.

Reginald “Bro’ Man” Ballard with Special Guests
Comedian Reginald Ballard
Reggie Ballard is commonly known as the series co-star of the hit series “Martin”. After his sprint on television, he pursued his comedic talents in front of audiences across the country. He is known as a great act that kills. As someone who has seen him multiple times, his act renews itself every time and is down-right hilarious.

Joe Clair with Timmy Hall
Comedian Joe Clair
Joe Clair is known for his hilarious stand-up material as well as his numerous TV and movie credits on projects such as “Rap City” which he was a host for, and “Martin Lawrence’s 1st Amendment Stand-up”. Let the video preview do the talking:
And I didn’t forget to mention the first part of the big news:
In celebration of this website being active and popular for 1 year, It’s Always Funny in Philadelphia will be presenting the closing night of the Philadelphia Comedy Festival with a “New Faces of Comedy” night, featuring Philadelphia’s best in new comedy talent.
The New Faces of Comedy show will be a showcase-styled show where those who have worked hard to get their comedy careers off the ground can come and perform in front of a packed crowd to show Philadelphia and the Laff House that they’re ready to be put on as professional, working comedians. In my attempts to put more comedians in the spot-light and provide the city of Philadelphia with as much comedy as possible, myself and the booking managers of the Laff House will be reviewing and contacting comedians who prove that they’re ready for the next level in becoming working comedians.
Comedians who wish to sign up for the New Faces of Comedy show can do so by emailing the Laff House at LaffHouse@aol.com – or stopping by the Laff House themselves.
More info on the “Always Funny” monthly comedy shows coming soon.
TICKETS WILL SELL OUT FOR ALL EVENTS OF THE PHILADELPHIA COMEDY FESTIVAL – BE SURE TO PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AHEAD OF TIME AT THE LAFF HOUSE TICKET PAGE!!!
